KoWork Onomo Massira Casablanca – coworking space review

If you’re in Casablanca and looking for a co-working space, this post is for you.

KoWork Onomo Massira is a coworking space located in the Anfa district, specifically part of the Onomo hotel.

The weird thing to keep in mind is you’ll be working from a hotel room turned into a coworking space. This coworking space is basically one floor in a hotel, turned into a coworking space.

Price

The prices for co-working spaces in Casablanca are the same, more or less. If you want a hot desk, you should expect something like 1500-2500 MAD (150$-250$) per month.

However, daily passes differ a lot. We’ve seen coworking spaces asking for 100 MAD (10$) per day, while others asking for 300 MAD (30$).

For KoWork Onomo Massira, the daily pass is expensive, in the 25$-30$ bucket.

Power sockets

If you’re working from a coworking space, chances are you’re using a laptop. And thus, power sockets and their placement is crucial.

In KoWork Onomo Massira, power sockets aren’t evenly distributed given you are working from a hotel room. I personally found that hotel rooms aren’t designed to be coworking spaces, and thus power sockets are a little out of reach.

WiFi connection

WiFi is like oxygen when you work remotely. A co-working space is correlated with the WiFi it provides. If the Internet connection is bad, then the co-working space is bad.

WiFi in KoWork Onomo Masira is pretty bad. You’ll be using the hotel’s guest WiFi which is already surcharged and barely usable. I’ve gotten a speed of 700kb-1 mb/s.

Noise

One thing I hate about co-working spaces is the noise. But, to be fair, it’s usually people’s mistake. Someone talking on the phone, multiple calls a day, laughs…

KoWork Onomo Massira has the best noise-canceling I’ve ever seen in a coworking space. The hotel is located on one of the busiest streets, but still very calm and you can’t hear a thing. Also, given the coworking space is separated into multiple rooms, there is less noise from other people.

Community

One of the reasons why we join a co-working space is the social aspect of it. Can you have lunch with others, share information, and learn from each other? That’s the community aspect we are talking about.

In my experience working from KoWork Onomo Massira, the coworking space was empty, so no community to interact with.

Location

Location is crucial for a co-working space. If the space is gorgeous, but you need to drive for 2h to reach it, then it’s not useful.

KoWork Onomo Massira has one of the best locations for a coworking space. It’s in the heart of the city, multiple restaurants are around, shopping centers, and all types of amenities.

Should you use KoWork Onomo Massira co-working space?

If you want a calm space for a day, then yes. Otherwise, we don’t recommend KoWork Onomo Massira. It’s overpriced, power sockets are not accessible, and the WiFi is unusable.
